Hey, I'm Hanno! I'm a self-employed software developer and maker, living in the beautiful Odenwald region in Germany.
I work on Fornjot, an early-stage project to create a next-generation, code-first CAD application. I've been experimenting with this for years on the side, and it's now my main professional focus.

I'm a software developer. I've learned to prefer clear code, written in a programming language, to complex graphical user interfaces that control opaque data formats. Applied to CAD, this approach is called Code-CAD or Programmatic CAD. Let's talk about some of the advantages of Code-CAD, as I see them.

Yes, there are a whole lot of options to choose from. And I tried to do that, again and again. Choose, I mean. But I've always come away unhappy from the experience.

I had a fun Saturday! Worked on ripping out some thorny bushes, including their root systems. A real man (and machine) against nature kind of thing.

It will take more Saturdays like this before I've cleared the whole property!
Notebook #6 is finally done! Came out pretty good, all things considered.
Another tiny step of progress on notebook #6: The rubber strap seems to be attached well. The connection will become even stronger, once I've glued on the back side of the cover.
And I started doing just that. By next weekend, when I'm back here in the workshop, the glue will have dried, and I can hopefully finish the notebook.
